ITW Workholding introduces the New Advanced Ball Lok (ABL) chuck. The ABL is not just a step forward in workholding technology, but truly a leap. In today's "green" environment, ITW Workholding has leapt ahead of the competition in providing energy efficient workholding.

It all starts with the composite core body. Utilizing years of research, ITW Workholding has developed a patented process by which the body has a steel shell that encompasses a composite core. This provides up to 40% reduction in weight as compared to a similar sized UBL.

  • The composite body provides a dampening effect, which can improve harmonics in turning operations.
  • Easier handling when mounting.
The new post style arm with patent pending "Quick Lok" jaw mount, further reduces the overall weight of the chuck as well as reduces the mass of the tooling extending from the face of the chuck, allowing not only higher RPM's, but improved chip shed.

The "Quick-Lok" design allows for jaw changeover in under 1 minute.

The one piece bearing improves grease retention, and provides for easier in house maintenance. No need to keep matched sets of bearings.
